The styling of the car was upgraded both inside and out to give the Accord a greater feeling of luxury and expense, although the car remains affordable. The 2011 sedan model includes a new style on the front grille, front bumper and rear deck lid along with a new wheel design.
Changes on the 2011 coupe include a bolder front grille design, new front bumper shape, enhanced brakelight appearance and a new wheel design for V-6 models.
On the inside, the Accord SE Sedan now offers the additional features of the LX-P models, such as leather-trimmed seating, heated seats, driver’s power-lumbar support and a leather-trimmed steering wheel, adding more luxury at an affordable price. All models received new cloth seat fabrics and updated instrument panels and interior accents.
Honda also took driver preferences into the 2011 models, as they put the most used climate-control buttons are now on the left side of the center stack to be closer to the driver, and less-used buttons are moved further away to the right.
Additional features are also available on other models now. The Accord EX-L V-6 Coupe now features steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and a two-position memory on the driver’s seat. A USB interface will be on all coupes and EX and EX-L sedans. A rear-view camera will be on all sedans with the option of a Navigation2 system.
Fuel consumption was improved in the 2011 model due to the improvements to vehicle aerodynamics, engine friction and transmission gear ratios. In 4-cylinder models, fuel economy has been improved by 2 mpg in the city and 3 mpg on the highway, bringing the Accord’s mpg to a highly efficient 23/34 mpg.
