2011 Hyundai Sonata
Already America's most fuel-efficient automotive brand, Hyundai Motor America has announced that its vehicles will average 50 miles per gallon by 2025.

Fuel-Efficient Line-up at Alexandria Hyundai
Regulations require that automakers achieve a company-wide average fuel economy of 35.5 mpg by 2016. Ahead of the curve, Hyundai had announced its own plan to reach 35 mpg by 2015 ahead of this legislation last year.
“We’re committed to setting the pace in this industry on fuel economy, and we’re inspired by the possibilities that our advanced Blue Drive technologies afford,” said John Krafcik, Hyundai Motor America president and CEO. “Getting to 50 mpg and beyond seems like a huge leap, but by making this commitment and aligning our R&D initiatives now, we know we can get there.”
Since Hyundai took the top fuel economy spot in the 2008 model year, customers have responded accordingly, helping boost market share by more than 50 percent for the world's fastest-growing automaker.
The 2011 Hyundai Sonata is leading the way for Hyundai not only in sales, but in fuel efficiency as well, with its highway rating of 35 mpg. Despite the gas savings, the Sonata still produces 200-horsepower thanks to the use of an advanced, four-cylinder gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine. Later this year a hybrid Sonata will go on sale, adding an even more eco-friendly option from Hyundai.
