PRLog - Sep. 7, 2010 - (September 7, 2010) – Horses for Sources (HfS), a leading analyst advisory firm covering business process outsourcing (BPO) and information technology outsourcing (ITO), today announced another in a series of executive hires to support an expanding global remit.
Mark Reed-Edwards joins HfS to spearhead the firm’s marketing and communications. Involved in both HfS’ research and media content, his role is to shape and define the HfS brand and the company’s editorial content. In addition, he will form a practice that advises CMOs and other senior executives on their strategic communications and marketing strategies.
Reed-Edwards has worked in communications and marketing for more than two decades, including six years at Yankee Group, where he built the company’s editorial, content, web, and creative groups from the ground up. He was responsible for the company’s rebranding in 2006.
Before Yankee Group, Reed-Edwards ran web marketing for Intranets.com, an early cloud-based provider of intranets for small business that is now part of Cisco. He also worked at EMC Corporation, where he was an early believer in the power of the web and started building customer and partner web communities in 1997. In earlier roles, Mark worked in marketing for Stratus Computer, and as a marketing consultant for brands such as Gillette, Rhone Poulenc Rorer and Polaroid.
Commenting on the appointment, Phil Fersht, Founder and CEO of HfS, stated, “HfS is deeply committed to producing insightful, direct and visionary research for senior executives who have some very tough decisions to make, when it comes to outsourcing. In addition, we need to keep leveraging our huge network and social media channels to deliver our insights to the market. Having worked extensively with Mark in the past, I’m confident that there is no one better for shaping our content and developing our analyst brand in today’s information society – we’re delighted to have him come onboard.”
Commenting on his move, Mark Reed-Edwards added, “HfS is pushing the boundaries of the analyst industry with its compelling style and ability to harness huge networks of industry stakeholders. When I heard Phil was forming HfS earlier this year, I was intrigued—and, knowing Phil, I knew it would be a success. Now I am thrilled to be part of it and look forward to helping HfS break new ground not just in covering BPO and ITO but also in helping CMOs and other senior marketers make the right decisions in today’s complex environment.”
In the six months since HfS was launched, the firm now boasts 33,000 subscribers to its blog and website and ten analysts spread around the globe. Expect more announcements of executive hires shortly.
