PORTLAND, Ore. -- Writers and authors will learn internet marketing strategies to promote their work and earn income from their writing in a series of workshops in Portland, Ore.
Market Your Book | The Workshop is set for Sundays, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3, 17, and 24 , from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., led by internet marketer Jan Bear. Each session will cover an essential internet marketing topic, specifically tailored for writers:
1. The Sales Funnel -- a basic overview of internet marketing trends that work in writers’ favor, and how to put them to the best use
2. Search Engine Optimization -- how to bring search engine traffic to an author’s site and keyword research for niche development
3. Article Marketing -- how to write short articles that expand a writer’s reach, build reputation, bring new readers to the site, and increase search engine ranking
4. Email Marketing -- how the writer can build relationships with his or her audience through a mailing list, as well as tools to make manage subscriptions and mailings.
Authors gain ideas for increasing the size of their readership, building traffic to their websites, and increasing their income whether they have a book deal or not.
Workshop participants will also receive an ebook with class notes, charts and illustrations, and click-through links to many of the websites discussed in the workshop. They will also have exclusive access to a web page where they can ask follow-up questions for four weeks after the workshop is over.
“Most writers I know have spent so much time on their writing that they don’t know about the new opportunities the internet gives to promote their work and build their audience,” said Jan Bear.
