911novel.com Web Site Now Updated

Sept. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- ROCKFORD, Illinois - The new web site for 911novel.com has been updated, featuring news, links and free ebook downloads from American writer Doug Shiloh.

A new feature on the site allows people worldwide to share their own story of "Where Were You When It Happened?."

"I've got readers in over 15 countries and everyone had some experience to the events of 9-11 and this was a place where they can put down in their own words of how it moved them and how it's affected them since," Shiloh said. "I hope putting those feelings down can help ease the pain and move us along."

So far, 3,200 people worldwide have downloaded Shiloh's first novel POOKOO, which is about "Celebrity, Chicago and 6-foot lobsters."

His new (and in-progress) novel is WAITING FOR THE END, a book with September 11th at its heart. The challenge for Shiloh wasn't in switching gears from POOKOO, a satire, to the decidedly somber tone of WAITING FOR THE END.

"When I read work from an author, I trust in that writer's "voice" but I want him or her to guide me through a new world, with their senses and experience and perspective, and the cool thing is, if they do their job, is to discover something new," Shiloh said.

The new updated web site includes a free PDF ebook of POOKOo for readers to get a feel for Shiloh's style.

Shiloh attended high school in Connecticut with people who were later in New York City's World Trade Center Twin Towers that day, but to find a broader base that readers can relate to, he took the book into a personal realm he hopes they can relate to: personal grief.

He began writing WAITING FOR THE END in May, 2009 and is currently revising it.

POOKOO is currently #47 on the bestseller Kindle charts under Track and Field sports.
