PRLog - Sep. 5, 2010 - LOS ANGELES -- Fred Crawford – a San Pedro local, began taking tap at the age of 16, and sites Donald O’Connor, Sammy Davis Jr., Hal LeRoy, and Dan Dailey as his major influences. Fred studied briefly with the great, Louis DePron. He also studied with the high speed and tricky breaks Tapper, Chester Whitmore. Fred danced regularly at the now defunct Papadakis Taverna, and is also known in the community as a top rate caricature artist. He is regularly spotted on weekday evenings behind the counter at Sacred Grounds Café next door to the Warner Grand Theatre – where aside from serving coffee, he sometimes showcases his tap skills. Crawford also does a vast number of spot-on impressions of celebrities from back in the day.
