By: Incorporate Semmes This enumeration (census) is the next step in the process for the inhabitants of the area to be granted an official "Order of Incorporation" On Friday, the Honorable Don Davis swore in 8 volunteers, all of whom were volunteers that obtained the original petition signatures. These volunteers will complete a door-to-door census collecting the required information. The volunteers must obtain the census information from one legal adult (age 18 years or older) residing within each household. "We will be working to complete the census as quickly as possible," says Judy Hale, a volunteer on the incorporation committee. As ordered, the enumeration should be completed in a timely fashion. For residents that are not at home when a volunteer arrives, they are requested to please call the phone number on the door hanger tag and set up an appointment for a return visit. "When the enumeration is completed and returned to Judge Davis, he will then issue the Order of Incorporation. We've worked very hard on the incorporation process and had overwhelming support at the polls on August 17th. The residents of Semmes are ready to take charge of their future as Alabama's newest city," says Hale. Contact: Judy Hale information@ 7875 Moffett Road, Unit #F, Semmes, AL 36575 End
