PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, September 3, 2010 -- Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX)
, an industry-leading provider of voice communications, data infrastructure, and product solutions today announced it has introduced a line of Outlet-Managed Power Distribution Units (PDUs) (MPSH8-S20-120V, etc.) that enable remote and timed individual outlet switching, auto on/off/reboot, load shed switching, outlet sequencing, and more. The PDUs can switch power on/off for individual network devices or for groups of equipment, as well as monitor equipment power and automatically notify you of changes in current levels, circuit breaker status, temperature, unauthorized access attempts, and ping response.
The PDUs also can alert you via e-mail, text, SNMP, SYSLOG, and audible alarms when user-defined thresholds are exceeded. Generate reports with detailed records
of current and power consumption. Save energy and money by shutting off power to equipment during downtimes.
One of these switched PDUs will keep an eye on your network equipment no matter
if you’re in the office, across the country, or asleep at home at 3 a.m. You’ll know if something is going wrong so you can correct the situation before it turns into a crisis.
Black Box carries Outlet-Managed PDUs in 8- and 16-outlet, single- and dual-circuit, and 120, 208+, and 208–240 VAC versions.
