With a theme of "Philippines: We do business with a smile", the Philippines will promote the country as a top producer of quality products and services, highlight the Philippines as a major tourist destination, and continue to fortify linkages with China and ASEAN member countries.

The CaExpo, slated on 20-24 October at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guangxi China, is an international platform for the Philippines to promote the country's flair in the delivery of high priority products and services. The Philippine Trade Commodity Pavilion (Trade and Retail) will feature Filipino brands under different categories such as food and beverage, organic and natural products, furniture and furnishings, consumer goods, handicrafts, arts and crafts and fashion accessories.

Among the top companies joining the Philippine pavilion is Lamoiyan Corporation, the maker of Hapee Toothpaste. "CaExpo is a venue to meet potential partners in China and ASEAN. Also, China is definitely a huge market so through the event, we're really looking forward to getting a serious partner who will help us infiltrate even the mainstream Chinese market," shared by Peter Paul Ang, Senior Marketing Services Manager of Lamoiyan Corp.

Aside from offering the unique products and services of the Philippines to China, the participation also highlights the richness of Philippine culture through a national pavilion or a "City of Charm," which will showcase to the world, the tourism, education, and business/investment opportunities in the country.

This year, CITEM is inviting the cities of Puerto Princesa in Palawan, Batac and Laoag City of Ilocos Norte, and the chartered cities of Bacolod and Zamboanga to be featured as the country's City of Charm.

The Philippine participation in CaExpo is organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture - Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service and the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII).

Interested exhibitors who want to tap the China market and Local Government Units (LGU's) who want to feature their city to be this year's City of Charm, please contact the Special Projects Division of CITEM at (632) 831 2336.
