Lucy's Love Bus Can Help A Child Battle Cancer with Butterfly's

Sept. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- The festival will be held on Sunday, September 12th from noon to 3, at The Woodsom Farm in Amesbury, MA- Lucy’s Love Bus Fly-Away Festival will release over one thousand Monarch butterflies as part of a fund raising effort that will provide direct support and comfort to children with cancer.  

The #1 R & B Group on YouTube, AHMIR, Country singer Nathan Osmond, local musicians from The Brew and the band Errata will perform. Actor Danny McDermott  who co-hosted The View has just been added to the festivals line up of entertainment.

The Fly-Away Festival is a special project of Lucy’s Teen Leaders- a group of 22 local youth who have joined together to help turn their friend Lucy’s dream into a reality.

Lucy's dream was to help kids just like her. Shortly before Lucy died she wrote a letter to her oncologist “When you look at the sick children follow them to the place they can speak to you in. Notice their bodies are two things, love and illness, and help them remember the love and not the sickness.  The Healing is [in] knowing who you were, not what you might be. ” Lucy Grogan lost her battle to leukemia four years ago at the age of 12.

The day is designed for families and children with activities ranging from crafts, face painting, pony rides, a butterfly garden workshop, Sports activities, and of course, the release of over one thousand Monarch butterflies to honor those impacted by cancer
