Strong Sales for Neal Communities in August; 25% Increase Over 2009

Neal Communities recorded its highest number of home contracts in 2010 across various price points with 41 contracts in August.

Sept. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Southwest Florida - Neal Communities recorded its highest number of home contracts of 2010 with 41 contracts in August, a 25% increase over last year. The majority of the contracts – 18 – were in the new Central Park at Lakewood Ranch community, which features homes priced from the mid $100,000s and ranging from 1,040 to 2,442 square feet. Since the July 17th grand opening, there were 40 contracts in the Central Park at Lakewood Ranch community, which included 38 from Neal Communities and two from Bruce Williams Homes.

The home contracts signed during August included 18 in Central Park in Lakewood Ranch, eight in Forest Creek, six in River Sound, five in the Country Club at Lakewood Ranch, two in Wisteria Park, and one each in Harborage on Braden River and Mandalay.
With the Treasury rate dipping even further in August, Neal also recognizes optimal timing as a factor in last month’s boom, despite the recent national reports of the decrease in building permits and housing starts. According to the National Association of Realtor’s website, “As of August 20, the rate was 2.62 percent. In July of this year the rate was 3.50 percent, while a year ago the rate was 3.62. The low rate bodes well for the cost of borrowing in other financial markets, and points to continued low mortgage rates.”
