Tara Subkoff:
Last July, the fashion world was greatly saddened to hear that "Imitation of Christ" designer Tara Subkoff was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma brain tumor that could, if not operated on in time, be fatal within two years. Since Subkoff had no insurance to cover the detailed procedure, which required 11 specialists, friends in the art and fashion worlds banded together to raise money to help offset her costs. Now, less than a year later, the formerly rebellious Subkoff has bounced back from surgery with a different frame of mind and promises to deliver one of the most intriguing shows at NY Fashion Week with the support of her friends such as Scarlett Johansson, director Wes Anderson, Tom Ford, Bill Powers, Madonna, Leelee Sobieski, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and many more.
