Yet it is not always smart to fall for their obvious appeal of cheap prices, as many have discovered there are clear cutbacks in the quality of the service. Often this can result in a loud and nonchalant hotel, drunken yobs around the bar, you know the kind the British are famous for. Though often this is the reality last minute offers are usually eager to suggest some kind of luxury.

Thankfully there are other ways to cut the expense of last minute travel other than cutting corners with cheap package holidays. Instead you can save on price without having to save on quality. The vacation rental home is now a burgeoning alternative to inexpensive but glamour-less hotels.

For a much more considerate price you can pick up a cheap flight with one of the many discount airline firms offering a number of services to countries and destinations throughout Europe.
