Aug. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- The Academy for Chief Executives North West region is offering local businesspeople the chance to ‘Eat their Ugly Frog first!’ with two free events this autumn – in Preston and Manchester.

Says Alan Dean, Chairman of the Academy group in Cheshire, Merseyside and Manchester ‘With challenging times for business right now we wanted to offer local businesspeople advice and support of real value this autumn. We have organised two free open events – each with leading speakers – at which local Entrepreneurs, Directors, CEOs and senior managers will learn new skills and techniques through which their businesses will not only survive but also thrive over the coming years.’

The Academy for Chief Executives is unique in providing a powerful platform through which our members continuously learn and develop their businesses. With a proven record of success, we felt that this opportunity should be available to the wider business community in the North West. We already have a number of delegates registered for the events and, as they will doubtless be a great success, my colleague Peter Hills and I plan to run similar events in the future.’

Peter Hills, Chairman of the Academy group in Lancashire adds “Our members tell us that they value being challenged and the inspirational thinking and different approaches that they receive from working with other CEO’s is priceless”.

The first event will be held on Tuesday 5 October at the Community Gateway Association offices at West Strand Preston and the second on Wednesday 20 October at Concord Business Park in Manchester. Both events (which are free of charge) start from 8.15 am for a working breakfast and continue all day

The acclaimed keynote speaker on 5 October will be Shay McConnon who will present Winning Relationships in the Workplace while on 20 October Roger Harrop will present Staying in the Helicopter – The Key to Profitable Growth.  Delegates will take away real, practical advice on improving their effectiveness as managers, increasing their company’s profitability and obtaining higher levels of staff engagement and hence greater productivity.

Following a morning of talks by the keynote speakers, in the afternoon delegates will work together in groups for coaching and mentoring, chaired by the experienced Academy facilitators, and network with successful fellow business leaders.
