Health & Safety Management Technology Patent Filed by ApexOD

Aug. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Minneapolis, MN  - A U.S. patent has been filed by ApexOD for its implementation of facility management programs.  The invention relates to systems and user interfaces for management of compliance and associated training related to criteria such as workplace health and safety.

“Completion of the previously provisional patent application is the culmination of a decade long research and development effort,” says Duff Dorschner, co-inventor and President of ApexOD.  “We spent twenty five years immersed in health and safety industry issues.  The past ten years comprised a very deliberate process of assembling proven technology in inventive new ways to address the fundamental issues that face health and safety programs in the workplace.  The patent will formalize this key intellectual property asset for ApexOD.”

Dorschner explains, “A key element of the invention is the connectivity between identified hazards, written plans, job descriptions, and training.”  ApexOD’s focus on outcomes led to a unique approach that automates the process of identifying, assigning, and tracking to completion key risk reduction steps that had previously been either overlooked or, at best, performed haphazardly in a time-consuming manner.  Dorschner continues, “Too many organizations were sold group or online training for a compliance checkmark, without any targeted connection to written plans, roles, or the risk reduction outcomes.  ApexOD technology can change that.”
