An Urgent Message To Our Fellow Pets In Northern New Jersey:

Fundraising Event called Petcasso to help homeless pets. Live auction, silent auction, pet paintings and more.

Aug. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Woof, Woof, Meow!  You’ll never believe what I just did! I think it’s a work of art, and boy was it fun.

I really enjoyed jumping and prancing around the canvas, and painting my little heart out!  The best part is that every one of my moves was captured on video.  Wait until you see me in my feature debut!

What does it take to create a Petcasso?  A creative mind, pet friendly paints, a clean canvas, and tons of toys and treats!  Some of this year’s painters include my friend Coco, a two-year-old Doberman that was adopted from Noah’s Ark who painted “Watercolors” with her own, Joe, and his two young sons in the rain, and Windsor, a gray cat adopted from the shelter who created Windsor’s Wisteria.

After we pranced in paint, the Petcasso painters were treated to a grooming session by our sponsors Pooch Spa and Paws for Beauty. Then, to make sure that every fur is in place for the big night, our human has been given a gift certificate to take us to Morris Animal Inn for a grooming.

Petcasso has been the talk of the shelter, and we hope that you’ll join us for the big night.  Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare Association Inc. is hosting the fundraising gala event on September 26, 2010, from 4pm to 7pm at The Skylands in Randolph.

Petcasso will be a fun evening of great food and entertainment; the centerpiece of the event is a live auction of artwork created by dogs and cats like myself who have been adopted from Noah’s Ark or are still here waiting to find their forever home.

Guests will have a chance to preview the masterpieces while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and listen to live acoustic music by 3West. There is a silent auction of some really great stuff, and lots of other animal lovers will be there!  Rob Moorhead will light up the stage with MC, and auctioneer Colonel Dennis Cassidy will offer artwork by furry artists.  Look for my painting; it’s the one that’s pawsatively purrfect!  They’ll even be guest appearances by the some of the painters themselves!

Artist Susan Blackwood and the Highland’s Art Gallery in Chester are donating to the live auction a pet portrait  — a painting of the winner’s pet by Susan.  Learn more about Susan and view her gallery and other artwork at www.highlandsartgallery.com.

Noah’s Ark is a non-profit organization that has been caring for us orphan animals for over 40 years. These nice people operate under an “adoption focused” philosophy, which means that none of us adoptable pets will be euthanized due to age, breed, or lack of space. Noah’s Ark also operates a Spay-Neuter Hotline that provides coupons for reduced cost spay or neuter services from a network of veterinarians in our community — so there are no more unwanted kittens or puppies that wind up in a shelter.  The humans here rely totally on adoption fees and donations from the public to support us with food and health care.  For more information, and to check out our artwork, visit us on www.NoahsArkNJ.org.
