Follow on Google News | TalkTalk and Vodafone to Partner up on Mobile BroadbandTalkTalk, who are best known for their home broadband packages have joined forces with Vodafone, one of the largest ISPs in the UK to offer their customers mobile broadband alongside their current services.
By: Olivia Preston TalkTalk currently plan to use Vodafone’s network to roll low-cost monthly mobile broadband to their customers, and currently have a huge customer base of around 4.2 million. Vodafone offer mobile broadband download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps and have won a handful of mobile broadband awards in the past few years making Vodafone the ideal choice to partner up with. The deal between TalkTalk and Vodafone has been named “The Mobile Virtual Network Operation” or MVNO for short, and is anticipated to commence towards the back end of 2010. TalkTalk ended their relationship with mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse back in April this year (which has its own MVNO deal with Vodafone) and have had much success with their low cost home broadband packages, gaining a significant share of the home broadband market.
