Cheyenne, WY Sept. 1, 2010 – Two years ago, after observing that many people didn’t seek professional help because they were unable or unwilling to, or simply didn’t need it, Jim Aldrich, a retired social worker/therapist began putting together a web site.
What he wanted was a site where a person’s concern about cost and stigma were not to be considered; where those simply seeking guidance in resolving personal issues be it relationships, self-esteem, life direction or other issues, could discover their own ability to change their life. Neither the site nor Aldrich claim to be a replacement for those needing professional help. What is offered is extensive informational and educational resources using an approach respected world-wide called Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).
“Having used the ACT model with a wide range of people and writing two books and several articles on the topic I really believe that this approach is applicable to the general public. Much of the content of ACT has powerful principles. Principles that can be useful to people simply looking for a better fit between themselves and the world they live in” said Aldrich.
Visitors are encouraged to learn more about ACT and determine if it would be useful to them. For those wanting a more in-depth experience with ACT Aldrich offers a subscription based member area.
Online now it can be visited at http://ChangingYourMind.net
