A perfect event to complement back-to-school (and as a nod summer’s eating splurge) is a Saturday morning of calorie-burning, abs-flattening, body-toning exercises during the free hour-long fitness boot camp hosted by Milwaukee Adventure Boot Camp (MABC). Free camps will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010, announced MABC owner and head trainer Catherine Andersen.
Following are times and locations:
Saturday, September 4, 7-8 a.m., Bradford Beach, Milwaukee
Saturday, September 4, 6-7 a.m., Wirth Park, Brookfield
“September is not only back-to-school time – for many, it’s back to a more serious exercise program,” said Andersen. “Many people become lax about their workouts during the summer. This free event is a chance to get back into a fitness mentality and learn new, fun exercises of all types, including cardio and strength training.”
All camps, including free camps, provide the flexibility for each person to work at a pace that’s challenging yet doable for a variety of fitness levels.
Participants (camps are coed) should bring a mat, weights and water. Pre-registration is required either online at www.milwaukeebootcamp.com, via email: support@
The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s leading authority on fitness, announced boot camp as one of the top 10 fitness trends for 2010, citing its efficiency in burning calories and improving muscular fitness.
