PRLog - Aug. 25, 2010 - BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Rhett Streeter, an 11-year-old boy who has lived with his mother’s ongoing struggle with lupus for more than a decade, took his family's unique challenges and turned them into lyrics. His mother, Lorie Streeter, added her musical spin and took their song into a studio in Nashville.

On that day, an anthem for people fighting autoimmune diseases was born.
Along with father and husband Roger, the Streeter family are the ambassadors for the 2010 Lupus Walk for Hope and 5K Trail Run for the Lupus Foundation Minnesota, sharing their story and this song of inspiration, '"Wherever You Float." LFM is producing CDs of “Wherever You Float,” which will be available prior to and at the Walk/5K. Proceeds will go to benefit support and research efforts, as well as fund services provided to lupus patients and their families.
As ambassadors for LFM, the Streeters hope to share their family's perspective while educating others about lupus and other autoimmune diseases and how to cope with them. Rhett and Lorie will be performing their song, "Wherever You Float," at both of the Lupus Walk for Hope and 5K Trail Run events set for September 11 in Plymouth and September 18 in Rochester.

About the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota: LFM is a nonprofit charitable organization that provides education, support and service to those affected by lupus, promotes awareness and understanding of lupus to the broader community and seeks to improve diagnosis and treatment of the disease as well as to discover a cure.
LFM was established over 30 years ago to raise awareness and fund reasearch in an ongoing effort to improve the lives of others. In meeting our missino, we work to provide hope, compassion, empowerment, support, independence and dignity to those living with lupus, and to their family, friends and supporters.
