Montreal, QC – The Our Kids Private School Expo returns to Montreal for the second year on September 19th. Our Kids has been hosting successful expos across Canada since 2002. These expos allow families in the Montreal area to explore the private school option in the open forum of a consumer expo, where they can meet with a number of schools in a casual environment. Schools from throughout the Montreal area as well as international boarding schools will be represented at the expo.
Our Kids Media’s Private School Expos showcase a variety of French and English private schools offering many alternatives including special needs, advanced studies programs for gifted students, Montessori, Waldorf, single sex and boarding. Free information seminars throughout the day will provide families with important tips and advice on choosing a school, eligibility requirements and special needs support.
Private education has increased in popularity in recent years. Most provinces have seen steady growth in the proportion of students enrolled in private schools over the past two decades. Statistics Canada reports steady growth of private school enrollment since 1987, and the province of Quebec has the largest percentage of students attending private school. Our Kids Media has been at the forefront of that interest trend. “We’re continuing to see increases in our magazine circulation and Expo attendance. I think it just goes to show that a good education will always be a priority for families,” said Andrew Stawicki, co-founder of Our Kids Media.
