Aug. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA — American LegalNet, the premier provider of “Desktop to Courthouse” workflow technologies that reduce risk and minimize cost, today announced the release of eDockets 3.1.0. This new version brings the docketing functionality to a new level by streamlining the docketing of NEFs (Notice of Electronic Filings) and PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) downloads.

In addition, the AUTO DOCKET® feature has been enhanced and the tangible benefits begin with the clerk, who, having been informed by the system of potential docket entries, merely needs to release the entry for docketing. Once the email arrives in the Docket/Calendar mailbox, only limited interaction with the system is required to complete the entry. On average, the effort involved in these operations is estimated to be 10 to 20 minutes per notice when hardcopy mail is received. For a firm with 350 litigators, given an annual volume of 5,760 docket entries (16.5 entries per litigator per year), this equates to a savings of 1,440 hours per year in the docketing process.

Enhanced AUTO DOCKET® features reduce PACER charges by centralizing all documents that are downloaded from PACER. Attorneys are notified of the PACER downloads and the documents are then re-usable without extra charges. NEFs are searchable by court, attorney of record and type of NEF receipt, and users now have the ability to track and approve charges for PACER PDFs.

“We are very excited about the latest release of eDockets and the enhanced AUTO DOCKET® functionality that saves substantial time and money in the docketing process as well as PACER downloads and charges,” states Erez Bustan, CEO of American LegalNet. “It not only makes downloading NEFs easier, but also provides so many options for searching and getting notices out on time.”

American LegalNet’s two other products are eFiling Portal and Forms WorkFlow. eFiling Portal standardizes the process of electronic filing with courts and agencies. Forms WorkFlow provides access to the most comprehensive library of federal, state and agency forms. eDockets works with both Forms and eFilingPortal to track, manage and distribute reminders related to forms and electronic filing based on the calendar and appropriate court rules.
