P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. According to the School in a previous press release, “...foreclosed properties still account for 60 percent of the Valley’s single-family home market activity”.  In a short sale transaction, a lender allows the homeowner to sell their property for less than the mortgage amount, to avoid the foreclosure process.
