HTC Wildfire – A cheaper HTC Desire with an affinity for social networking

HTC’s Wildfire handset is a budget phone with a diverse array of features. More details below.

Aug. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- Equipped with awesome call quality, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, an FM radio RDS, and an enormously convenient media player, the Wildfire doesn't skimp when it comes to providing you with great sound. While it's hardly a music phone, you'll find it has more music related features than many high priced mobiles.

The designers also got wonderfully creative with the ringtones. Not only does the ringer automatically lower slightly in volume when you pick the phone up, but turning over the phone makes the ringer quiet completely and sends the caller directly and discreetly to voice mail. This, as you can imagine, works great in cinemas and business meetings alike.

The Wildfire is dedicated to keeping you connected, with wi-fi, Bluetooth, 3G HSDPA, and many others. You'll also enjoy a wealth of goodies for keeping in touch with various popular social networking sites. Unlike many phones, these widgets provide accurate live feeds for Twitter, Facebook, and more. Combine this with a GPS system with Google Maps and Youtube compatibility, and you'll have very little to complain about. Unfortunately, its blurry screen may make viewing emails, texting, and videos a bit of a drag.

While its memory isn't the biggest, its 32 GB micro SD card should leave you with enough to store  your goodies without trouble. Alas, its wealth of features and bright screen means that you'll need to charge it fairly often.

Available in black, white, red, and more, the HTC Wildfire is certainly an eye catcher. Not only is it pretty, but it feels solid and strong against the palm. Its 3.2 16 million colour capacitive touchscreen is bright and responsive, but disappointingly blurry. If you don't mind squinting a little, it shouldn't be a bother, but if you're prone to headaches or eye pain, it might be best to consider another phone.
