Michael J. Smith Appointed Senior Vice President of Institutional Marketing

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 22, 2010 - New York, NY, August 20, 2010 - Granite Springs Asset Management LLC is pleased to announce that Michael J. Smith has joined the firm as Senior Vice President of Institutional Marketing.  

"Michael will focus on raising awareness of our fixed-income portfolio management capabilities to pension plans, plan consultants and other institutions that actively seek emerging managers," says Patrick Smith, CEO of Granite Springs Asset Management LLC.  "Michael’s strong marketing experience, professional training and high energy make him the ideal person to lead our efforts in this important area.  Michael is also an experienced portfolio manager and he will be a significant addition to our investment committee.”

Michael J. Smith has worked in private client banking and investment management since 2000.  Before joining Granite Springs Asset Management LLC he was a Financial Advisor with J.P. Morgan Chase Bank for more than six years.  Prior to that, he held positions with E*Trade Financial and Commerce One Financial.  Before 2000, Michael was a marketing executive with the International Gemological Institute, where he managed a staff that was responsible for client accounts throughout the United States.  Michael studied economics and accounting at the State University of New York at Delhi.
