Aug. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CALIF.--Planning home improvements for the holidays or for 2011? The Conejo Valley Home Remodeling & RV Show, Saturday and Sunday, September 11 and 12, offers the latest in home remodeling, appliance upgrades and energy-efficient products. The home show will be at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza (880 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village).

Over 170 vendors will exhibit at the show. They will be showcasing everything from kitchen and bath remodeling to interior designs including home entertainment/automation to landscaping, pools and spas. The show will include several lenders who can discuss remodeling financing options and current lending rates. The latest 2011 RVs will also be on display.

"Specialists on just about every home-related product or service will be on hand to offer their expertise," says Rick Goodman, show organizer. "Nowhere else can you find all these resources in one location."

"Even in this economy, people are still undertaking remodeling projects but they are more budget conscious," says Liz Tiffin, designer at Westlake Remodeling in Thousand Oaks and a vendor at this year's show (805-499-4121, westsideremodeling.com). "Kitchens and baths remain the main focus of most remodeling projects. People are tending toward cleaner, simpler lines with granite and stainless steel still popular. Most kitchen projects can be completed in 8 to 10 weeks so act now if a new kitchen is in the plans for the holidays."

Exhibitor Woody's Landscape & Masonry (818-992-8487, www.woodyslandscape.com) is seeing a trend toward paver installation on patios, driveways and pool decks. "Pavers don't crack like concrete," says Woody Woodworth, owner of the 28-year-old landscaping and masonry company based in Canoga Park that serves the west San Fernando Valley and Ventura County. "There is also an increased interest in artificial grass. A lot has changed since the Astroturf of the 1960s. Artificial grass means less water and reduced maintenance, plus it's easier on pets with grass allergies."

Outdoor living areas are also in demand. "We're fortunate to live in an area where we can be outdoors from March through October," says Woodworth, whose company creates outdoor spaces for small track homes to multi-million-dollar mansions. "Homeowners are adding outdoor barbeques, sinks, refrigerators, wine coolers, gazebos, patios, ceiling fans, fireplaces and televisions. These outdoor spaces are literally extending the living square footage of a home. In these economic times, homeowners are cutting back on travel and putting the money into their backyards, which they can enjoy for years to come."

Control Home Automation (805-870-5517), a new exhibitor at the show, will display electronic home security and convenience devices available from Smarthome. "Automated products from Smarthome with INSTEON technology use basic AC wiring and wireless radio frequency to control the functions of the electronics in your home," says Lee Fleishman, owner of In Control and a Smarthome authorized dealer. "You can program lights to turn on when you arrive home, make sure your garage door is closed, control your home's thermostat and regulate exterior lights even while away. You can be notified if someone is in your home who shouldn't and even view home security cameras off site. The options are endless."
