Consarc Developing Revolutionary Silicon Casting Furnace

Consarc Corporation, has begun manufacturing a project devoted to producing multicrystalline silicon ingots at a fraction of the cost of Directional Solidification (DS) furnaces using the Electromagnetic Cold Crucible (EMCC) furnace technology.

Aug. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- [August 2010] – Consarc Corporation, an Inductotherm Group company, has dedicated its efforts to a multimillion dollar project devoted to producing multicrystalline silicon ingots at a fraction of the cost of traditional Directional Solidification (DS) furnaces using the Electromagnetic Cold Crucible (EMCC) furnace technology.

“The EMCC furnace will be a game-changer for the Photovoltaic Industry,” says Bill Marino, President and CEO of Consarc Corporation.  “We are excited about the opportunity to participate in the growing solar industry, and look forward to making an impact by applying our existing induction technology to streamline the silicon refining and casting process.”

The testing phase of the EMCC furnace is expected to begin in September, followed by the introduction of this product to the market.
