Bio-Engineers also bring you the revolutionary PEP test, the first test to look at the all round abilities of an athlete on a non-sport specific basis.
Introducing the bio-engineers body performance MOT (PEP Test)
PEP Testing (Power, Endurance, Posture)
The PEP test is the ultimate test for professional athletes and enthusiastic amateurs alike. It gives you the opportunity to test your Power using the state of the art Myotest accelerometer based power testing machine, your endurance using our state of the art fitness equipment and your posture using the latest force pressure analysis and high speed video equipment.
The purpose of this test is to assess the areas that you can make the most improvements within your chosen sport and assist in determining a plan to improve your performance in the most efficient manner possible. We also provide a complete gait analysis, this is important to determine how you are putting your power down to maximise your output and avoid injury through our advanced knowledge of biomechanics.
Power:
We use the state of the art Myotest system used by Olympians and professional athletes from all the major sports across the globe to assess your power output in the key muscles your body uses the majority of the time. This is most important for those people involved in explosive activities, we provide comprehensive reporting on the outcomes.
Endurance:
Using a variety of scientifically approved endurance tests we assess your cardio vascular health and muscle endurance, used in conjunction with the power testing this helps to determine the dominant types of muscle fibres within your body (slow twitch, fast twitch etc) Cardio vascular health is important to the longevity of any sporting career as well as general wellbeing. In addition this will play an important part in determining the most appropriate programme to achieve your goals.
Posture:
Resolving issues with posture is the easiest way to help prevent future injury and improve performance. Many very talented athletes end up quitting sport altogether as a result of the pain brought on by poor posture which is often easily fixed with muscle specific exercises, insoles, orthotics or just simply paying attention to what they are doing wrong. A good analogy is that of a formula 1 car. The teams spend £20,000 per tyre and tyre choice and technology is the most important differentiator between the top teams in crucial races. This is because these tyres enable the power of the car to be transferred to friction on the track in the most efficient manner, improving your posture is no different but has the added benefits of significantly improving quality of life and longevity of your sporting career.
