Unfortunately, our society tends to look the other way when it comes to domestic violence especially if it does not affect them directly. “Every nine seconds, a woman is abused by her husband or intimate partner. One in every three women you see could be a victim of domestic violence” states Chyna McGarity, DV Survivor who lived at a Partnership Against Domestic Violence shelter over 20 years ago. Today, McGarity has come full circle and is working at PADV as a Shelter Advocate. “We all have to be responsible and accountable to get a strong message across that Domestic Violence is Wrong Always,” she added.
George and Chyna, a husband and wife team, are instruments of solution for women desiring to turn their lifes’ pain into purpose through a spiritual awakening from the inside out. Their message is quite simple - to give women a voice and give them the courage to rediscover themselves anew.
“This movement is well over do in our community, so hope can happen.” Jeriene Bonner, Vice President of Cobb County NAACP
