NAWMBAs Announces New Louisville, Kentucky Chapter Launch September 30, 2010

The National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) announces the formation of a new chapter in Louisville, Kentucky. The local chapter is sponsored by the University of Louisville, and is the first chapter to be established in a tier two city.

Aug. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- “Our goal is to become the largest chapter!” comments Heather Howell, Rooibee Red Tea CTeaO and Louisville chapter founding member. “We have a large pool of women MBA’s living in the greater Louisville metro area that will greatly benefit from a strong business women’s network.”

The initial 2010 through 2012 membership fee for the new Louisville chapter is $130 followed by an annual renewal rate of $75 beginning in 2013. Membership benefits include professional women’s networking, education opportunities, professional development, and collaboration among graduate business school programs regarding national initiatives to educate and encourage women in business. Women may join the new chapter by registering online at http://www.mbawomen.org.

A special launch party is planned for Thursday, September 30, 5:30 to 7:00 pm, 25th Floor Humana, 500 West Main Street. Tickets are $20 for members and $35 for non-members. Tickets may be purchased online. The launch party will officially kick-off The National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) 2010 Conference and Career Fair - Global Economy, Global Leadership October 1-2, in Louisville, KY. The event is designed to assist women, both students and professionals, as they continue along the journey to develop and enhance leadership skills.

The 2010 Conference will be held at the Louisville Marriott with the Career Fair at the Kentucky International Convention Center. The event is sponsored by Walt Disney World Resort, Humana, Brown-Forman, The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, American Airlines, The Home Depot, Wesco Distribution, Ernst & Young, Prudential, Yum!, McDonalds, State Farm Insurance, Northwestern Mutual, Cintas, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, P&G, FDIC, FHL Bank San Francisco, Giant Eagle, AT&T, E-ON/US, General Electric, UofL/MBA, Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management, Rollins MBA Career Development, University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School Crosby MBA Program, and Robert J. Students and professionals will have the opportunity to attend the Career Fair, participate in career consulting sessions (resume reviews and mock interview), networking events, development sessions, and meet women of all levels and backgrounds. The 2010 development sessions consist of five tracks:  Powerful Women We All Should Know, Triple Play: Your Career, Your Life, and Your Wellness, Navigating Your Ideal Career, Career Opportunities for MBAs, and Creating Collaboration Among Women in Corporate America. While the session topics in each track work together attendees have the choice to attend all sessions in one track, or switch between tracks.
