I thank Planned Parenthood for entrusting me with the task of defending women's reproductive rights. For more than 90 years, Planned Parenthood of New York City (PPNYC) has been a beacon of hope for women, and today, I am committed to the next generation of women.
The State that started the Women's Rights Movement has failed to provide women with adequate protections and advance women's rights into the 21st century. My opponent is wrong on women's rights, just as he is wrong on so many issues. Reform and progress on public policy is clearly absent from my opponent's agenda.
In the end, reproductive health is about choice and the protection of personal privacy rights. When we start dictating taking choice away from people, we enter a dangerous territory that threatens to impede upon an individual's personal rights and health.
DiSanto's platform focuses on economic recovery and relief for middle class families. He is running for New York State Senate in Brooklyn's 22nd Senatorial District on the Democratic and Working Families lines. The seat is currently held by Republican Marty Golden and includes parts of of Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights, Gravesend, Sheepshead Bay and Marine Park. DiSanto was previously endorsed by the National Organization for Women and has been a prominent voice for women's rights and reproductive health.
