Jim and Cheryl Silverblatt were diagnosed as having tainted and corrosive drywall, commonly called Chinese Drywall, May 1st, 2009. They have continued to live in their home, located in Venice, Florida, in the Venetian Golf and River Club development, built and developed by WCI, while participating in the MDL Litigation, under Judge Fallon's guidance.
Jim and Cheryl have closely monitored the MDL Litigation process, waiting anxiously for financial support or funding required to correct the tainted and corrosive drywall issue, and finally after more than a year ... decided ... enough was enough.
The Silverblatt's decided to move forward with required corrective protocols, re-construction, and legal documentation, with their own money and continue with the litigation process, in hopes of recovering all the demo, abatement, treatment, re-location, testing, EPO, and re-construction cost, that now exceed ... $100,000.00.
Several companies presented options that included some of the following items or issues ... cost estimates, treatment systems, abatement options, testing options, EPO (Evidence Protection Order) options, re-construction cost estimates, Final Clearance Testing options, with numerous allowances items and hidden, unknown cost, that would have resulted in an open check book.
Only one TEAM provided a TURN-KEY ... TOTAL COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION.
The Silverblatt's building experience with their original Builder / Developer ... WCI ... was an eye opening experience, to say the least, and Jim was very adamant he would know exactly what this tainted, corrosive, Chinese drywall issue resolution would cost ... start to finish ... including all cost, time frames to complete, and specific details for each activity or item.
NO SURPRISES !!! NO EXTRAS !!!
As previously stated, Jim and Cheryl solicited several estimates from companies that were reviewed, incomplete, re-submitted, and scrutinized by Jim before he and Cheryl decided on the best, most cost effective, professional, and organized TEAM to trust and contract with, for their very detailed and specific project.
After several meetings and detailed line item estimate reviews, not only covering ...
Demo, Abatement, Treatment, Post Treatment Testing, Personal Property Treatment, Specific Re-Construction Cost, and EPO cost ... with specific dollar amounts clearly defined ... Jim and Cheryl had one last item or request to seal the deal ...
Cheryl and Jim wanted to visit an existing project, during the Sniper Treatment System Application, to confirm and validate visually what would happen on their project and know first hand the specific details of the Abatement and Treatment System Application.
Needless to say, Foreman and Associates and the Sniper Team provide a complete package of services and professionals, and existing project site visit, that not only answered all their questions, but also provided a very cost effective Turn-Key, Fixed Fee Contract, that included everything with no surprises or hidden cost.
Permitting took several days and the Demo and Abatement process started, Tuesday August 17th, 2010 and the Sniper Treatment System was applied today, Friday August 20th, 2010.
During the permitting process, the Sniper Treatment Team addressed the Silverblatt's personal property, clothes, and furniture ... that required an AbissoCleanse Treatment ... to remove and eradicate the residual effects these items had absorbed or become tainted with from exposure to the corrosive Chinese drywall vapors or out-gassing ... prior to moving these items to their temporary residence, during the Demo, Abatement, Treatment, and Re-Construction process.
This was a very big issue, for Jim and Cheryl, and numerous other companies, failed to address or estimate actual cost required to accomplish. Several of the companies did not even offer the service ???
Foreman and Associates Team Approach and complete estimate, included that specific item, with a fixed cost ... again ... NO SURPRISES !!!
Tomorrow ... Saturday ... August 21st, 2010, the independent, third party, laboratory testing group will take numerous construction material samples and confirm by specific ASTM Test methods, no out-gassing or residual effects remain ... after the Sniper Treatment System Application and a passing ... Clearance Document ... certified and reviewed by a licensed P.E. for the State of Florida ... will be issued.
Once this Passing Clearance Document is issued, re-construction starts.
