Speech Craft is a program designed to teach public speaking skills. During the program, participants have the opportunity to present three to six speeches, introduce other speakers as well as participate as evaluators. Evaluations are meant to be constructive and beneficial to the speaker. Toastmasters evaluations are performed in the sandwich style where the evaluator first tells the speaker the things they did well, suggest some improvements in the middle, and continues with positive comments at the end.
Studies have shown that for most people, one of the greatest fears is the thought of having to stand before a large group of people and perform a speech. Toastmasters International is a club where people can learn how to become comfortable behind a lectern and even grow to enjoy public speaking. Toastmasters encourages all who are interested in improving their public speaking skills in a fun and non-intimidating environment to sign up for this course.
