Mayor Rick Fernau (Show Low AZ) officially endorses Bill Konopnicki's candidacy for the Senate seat in Legislative District 5.
Mayor Fernau said in part: "I have worked with Bill Kononpicki for a number of years. Bill has worked hard to help rural Arizona's cities and towns keep taxes low and provide essential services. I recommend Bill Konopnicki to serve as our Arizona State Senator for District 5.
Bill Konopnicki very thankful of Mayor Fernau's endorsement stated: Living in rural Arizona helps me understand both the advantages and the challenges of living in a rural community. My goal in serving is to make life better for all Arizonans, especially, the citizens of District 5. This includes better education (both K-12 and higher education), health care, protecting our forests, keeping rural Arizona’s water safe and expanding rural economic development while at the same time keeping taxes low and providing necessary state services.
While much has been accomplished in the past 8 years, there is much more still to do. It is important that we continue to fight for the citizens of Arizona by providing affordable health care, increase funding for K-12 education, provide greater accessibility to higher education, develop more and higher paying jobs, and keep our communities safe. I believe that we must have a secure border and must deal with the issue of illegal immigration.
