Chengdu International Health City covers an area of 31.5 square kilometers in the Wenjiang district of Chengdu which is in Sichuan province. It is a zone developed to bring together the best in health care, rehabilitation, medical education and research. The area around Chengdu, known as a natural oxygen bank and admired for its ecological beauty is already a major tourist destination, with visitors from around the world flocking to see the home of the pandas. Now it is set to become an international medical tourism destination as well.
The City will be home to high-end medical and health management services including hospital, infirmary, regenerative medicine, rehabilitation, and a senior’s residence. Surrounding botanical gardens and protected ecological parks make it a welcome retreat in which to receive the highest quality medical care.
WA has been granted space in the section called Lotus Health Zone, on which to develop a WA Health Center of Excellence and educational facilities. WA's COO/CTO Dr William Cao, PhD, BM states “The entire WA team is very excited about this project, bringing a new standard of health care to such a large population.”
