82% of women exercise during pregnancy according to fitformum survey
The thought of exercising during pregnancy for many women is terrifying enough, let alone actually participating in any form of exercise. However, a new survey by Australian made maternity active wear range fitformum, has shed light on pregnancy and exercise.
The “fitformum pregnancy & exercise survey” indicated that an astonishing 82% exercised during their pregnancy. In the not so distant past, any sort of exertion during pregnancy was frowned upon. Thankfully in today’s society with supportive clothing such as the fitformum range and medical developments exercise in moderation can be beneficial.
48% of pregnant women in the “fitformum pregnancy & exercise survey” said looking good while exercising was an important factor and a whopping 92 % indicated that comfort while exercising was important.
With growing bodies, comfort and style in mind, fitformum designed their range of maternity active wear to be worn during and after pregnancy for women of all shapes and sizes, readily available online.
“We created the fitformum range with comfort a major factor. With these results and our own research it is clear that pregnant women want and need an active wear range that answered this demanding criteria” said Rene Logan, Co-Director of fitformum.
Also revealed in the “fitformum pregnancy & health survey” 63 % revealed while pregnant they walked as part of their exercise while 27% exercised in the form of yoga.
“The benefits of exercising during pregnancy include reducing the physiological and psychological discomforts often associated with pregnancy. Exercising body & mind – goes a long way” said Melissa Knapp from Yoganic, a leading Yoga Studio in Sydney.
The fitformum tops and bottoms are made of 4-way stretch Supplex fabric. They’re lightweight, super stretchy and soft to wear making them ideal for all sorts of exercise including prenatal yoga and pilates. The pieces grow with you and then return to original size and shape once baby arrives.
They support mum comfortably as the baby grows and the fabric breathes naturally to keep mum cool during and after the pregnancy, making mum’s efforts to return to her pre-baby shape a little easier by supporting the body where needed with a comfortable outfit that returns to its original shape.
“Ultimately during any type of exercise while pregnant wearing supportive clothing such as the fitformum range is of utmost importance. The best kind of clothing supports the growing belly and breasts without restricting movement and circulation”
