Miss Teen World 2010 Crowned

The Hilton Post Oak in Houston played host to the international search for the most outstanding teenager in the world. Nearly 30 contestants from all over the globe vied for the opportunity to be MISS TEEN WORLD 2010!
 
Aug. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- After a week of rehearsals, social functions and making friends from all over the world, 24 young ladies competed on Wednesday August 12, 2010 at the Hilton Post Oak Grand Ballroom for a preliminary round of competition in swimsuit and evening gown for the title of Miss Teen World 2010. The ladies competed in official swimsuits and shoes provided by Crown Couture and evening gowns were of their own choice reflecting each young lady’s individual style.

The following day, the distinguished group of international judges spent some time getting to know each of the ladies in a panel-style interview where business-style dresses or suits were worn by the contestants.  

On Friday August 14, 2010 the Miss Teen World pageant held the final show where the top 12 semi-finalists were announced and they were:  Miss Teen Canada-World Channing Smendziuk, Miss Teen India-World Shreya Ishita, Miss Teen New Zealand-World Chane Berghorst, Miss Teen Siberia-World Osodoeva Oyuna, Miss Teen South Pacific-World Cassie Sumimoto, Miss Teen Mexico-World Dora Molina, Miss Teen South Africa-World Ti-Amore’ Fourie, Miss Teen Greece-World Anastasia Sidiropoulou, Miss Teen Guyana-World Candace Charles, Miss Teen United States-World Belle Owen, Miss Teen Aruba-World Sara Thornton and Miss Teen Namibia-World Marisa Maloney.  

After the last round of competition the special awards were announced.  Miss Teen Mexico-World, Dora Molina, was named Miss Congeniality.  Miss Teen Canada-World, Channing Smendziuk, won the most photogenic award.  Best in swimsuit was Miss Teen Korea-World, An Yeonseon.  Miss Teen Dominican Republic-World, Martha Montero, was best in evening gown.  Miss Teen Scotland-World, Natasha Dinwoody, was best in interview.  And one of the most spectacular events of the evening was the National Costume parade, and the winner of best in costume was Miss Guyana-Teen World, Candace Charles.

The 12 were narrowed down to five and each of them was asked an on-stage question.  The final results were as follows:  the 4th runner up was Miss Teen South Pacific-World Cassie Sumimoto, 3rd runner up Miss Teen Guyana-World Candace Charles, 2nd runner up was Miss Teen South Africa-World Ti-Amore’ Fourie and 1st runner up was Miss Teen Canada-World Channing Smendziuk.

Crowned by the outgoing Miss Teen World 2009, Tayla Robinson of South Africa, the new Miss Teen United World is Miss Teen Greece-World Anastasia Sidiropoulou.  Anastasia is 17 years old from the Thrauomakedones Mountains in Athens, Greece. Anastasia is a recent high school graduate who will go on to university to become a doctor.  She is the daughter of Nikos and Chzisanthi Sidiropoulou and has both an older and a younger sister.  In addition to becoming a doctor, Anastasia also has aspirations to become a model. Beautiful inside and out, Anastasia loves painting, playing the guitar and sketching political cartoons for her father’s newspaper.  Anastasia will spend her year promoting the Miss Teen World Pageant and their motto “Be Your own Kind of Beautiful”. Miss Teen World won a prize package valued over $30,000 including a $5,000 educational scholarship. The crown, cash, wardrobe, jewelry, media training and travel opportunities are just some of the luxuries she will experience during her year.
