LOS ANGELES -- Norwood Young, the King of Hancock Park, cordially invites you to celebrate his birthday in conjunction with the upcoming release of his memoir "Getting Back to My Me" on Thursday, August 26, 2010. More details to come.
Hosted by the King himself at his home – that is, "Youngwood Court" in Los Angeles -- Norwood is preparing a night of excitement, fun and a little gossip to toast the bloggers who know all about him … as well as those who those who love to hate him!
It’s an evening of dish as Norwood shed some light on old myths, and talk candidly about new ones! Attendees will be treated to a royaly and given carte blanche access to ask Norwood all the questions that inquiring minds want to know. Plus, Norwood will share an excerpt from his new upcoming memoir, “Getting Back to My Me,” set for release in October. Bloggers will be the first to get a sneak peek at the chapter titled, “A Women Named Superhead.”

About Norwood
Two years ago, Gold recording R& B artist, Norwood Young, was crowned King of Hancock Park by LA City Beat Magazine, a prestigious neighborhood in Los Angeles. Norwood, also known as "The Ambassador of Love," -- is creating buzz with sales of the newly-released hit single "I Fell in Love With You First" from his much-anticipated CD, due to be released next year. He is currently prepping for his book tour to promote his memoir, titled "Getting Back to My Me."
Norwood is the former lead singer of legendary jazz group, Pieces of a Dream. With the band, he garnered the gold single “What Can I Do?” on the “Bout Dat Time” album. As a solo artist, he recorded two top-twenty singles, “I Can’t Let You Go,” and “Shoulda Been Us Together.” He hit gold again for the single “Young Man, Older Woman,” a duet with Grammy-nominee Millie Jackson. Norwood is known for throwing lavish parties at his home, Youngwood Court. So much so, that audiences got a chance to see the day-to-day goings on of him and his butler on E! Networks’ reality show, “High Maintenance 90210.
And if you have you ever driven by the house on the corner of Third Street and Muirfield Road in Hancock Park – you know, the one with all the replicas of Michelangelo’s statue of David lining the front yard -- and wondered: “Who in the hell lives there?” Well, that’s Youngwood Court -- the home of Norwood Young. LA City Beat Magazine named Young as the “Best Thing in Hancock Park” because his home is “an architectural tribute to beauty, art, glamour, fantasy, flamboyance, and living out loud.” The publication also praises Young for “a refusal to stay silent, to hide one’s talents or one’s love of Michelangelo. A disdain for blending in, for conforming … .” Young was featured on the cover of the September 25, 2008 issue (Volume 6/Number 39) of LA City Beat Magazine.
“Youngwood Court” is part of LA’s pop culture. It’s even included as part of Hollywood’s tours of famous homes. Youngwood Court has been featured in Angeleno Magazine as well as Marie Claire and Nest magazines.
