The Great Butterfly Release

Aug. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Freedom rings at Sickles Market this Saturday as it prepares to release 100 Painted Lady Butterflies, which have been on display at the market for the past few weeks. This is an annual tradition at Sickles — caterpillars are shipped to the store and the public watches them transform into butterflies over several weeks.  Then, when ready, they are set free.

Face painting for the kiddies and a corn shucking contest are among some of the kids activities that will be going on throughout the day. Family-friendly activities start at noon, culminating with the release of butterflies at 4:00 PM.
