- Unique Features of this Concert/Story Line: -
• OPENING NIGHT of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit 2010-2011 season
• Known worldwide as “The Royal Family of the Guitar,” The Romeros guitar quartet has encompassed three generations of concert artists during its 50-year history.
• In addition to an international touring schedule and a remarkable discography, perhaps The Romero’s most lasting legacy is the creation of a new repertoire for guitar quartet. The Romeros have inspired distinguished composers to either write new works or arrange existing ones, including Joaquín Rodrigo, Federico Moreno Torroba, Morton Gould, Francisco de Madina and Lorenzo Palomo.
• This concert marks the fourth appearance of The Romeros on the Chamber Music Society of Detroit series.
• NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH is celebrated throughout the US from September 15 to October 15, creating a tie-in with the Romeros’ Detroit area concert and residency activities (please see Two Week Ensemble Residency Program below).
• PRE-CONCERT DINNER: BACCO RISTORANTE, with special reduced dinner price for CMSD ticket-holders, 6:00 – 7:15 PM

- Chamber Music Society of Detroit 2010-2011 Two-Week Ensemble Residency Program -
• September 13-September 24: Celino Romero and Lito Romero will conduct the Chamber Music Society’s Ensemble Residency Program.
• This marks the first time the guitar is featured in the program’s 16-year history.
• September 24: Two student concerts at Seligman Performing Arts Center
