PT-ST10 specially designed for large image, close range projection for use in education market

Aug. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Wiesbaden, Germany, 12 August, 2010 –– Panasonic AV Systems Europe (AVSE) today announced the introduction of a new short throw projector, the PT-ST10. Available from this month onwards, the new model has been engineered especially for use in the education sector where its space-saving qualities will help to open up many new learning environments to the benefits of projection. The projector’s advanced feature set also provides the flexibility to support a wide range of different learning applications and activities.

The 2,800 lumen PT-ST10 has a short-throw ratio of 0.5:1 allowing it to overcome significant space constraints in the classroom and minimising the distance required from wall to projector. Its close-range capabilities make the PT-ST10 ideal for use with whiteboards while also reducing shadow interference on screen.

Christian Sokcevic, GM Sales & Marketing for Panasonic Projectors said: “We recognise that many classroom settings where projection is required cannot always accommodate standard projector equipment. This model’s capability to project 80-inch images with a throw distance of only 82 cm means that it can overcome the space constraints of a small area to deliver a superior AV experience. It means that a lack of space need no longer be a barrier to learning.”

The projector’s footprint is the size of an A4 file and at only 3.1 kg, it is highly portable. Despite its small dimensions, the PT-ST10 comes with an array of features that are designed to assist AV based learning. With whiteboard and blackboard modes, the projector can be used in rooms that do not have a screen installed. An Intelligent Power Management function permits use of the projector even in places with unstable electrical power while a Daylight View Basic function ensures clear images even in brightly lit rooms.

The PT-ST10’s environmental credentials include Low standby power consumption of 0.4 W*1 in eco standby mode and 15 W in normal standby mode as well as a Direct Power-Off function that allows immediate disconnection from the power supply.

The addition of the PT-ST10 to the projector line-up strengthens Panasonic’s offering for the education sector. Already, the company provides a range of innovative solutions for a range of learning applications including the UB-T880 elite Panaboard solution, a revolutionary multi-touch interactive whiteboard which allows up to three points to be touched simultaneously as a way to interact with images, data and text.

Other Panasonic solutions for education span small portable units and projectors for Interactive boards, to powerful, high brightness products for lecture halls and auditoriums. For more information please see http://panasonic.net/avc/projector/index.html
