Majority of men wouldn’t let partner sunbathe topless

A new poll by the UK’s fastest growing online independent travel agent of 2,392 people has revealed that more than half of the male respondents wouldn’t let their partner sunbathe topless on holiday.

A new study by the UK’s fastest growing online independent travel agent has revealed that half of men, 56%, wouldn’t let their partner sunbathe topless on holiday, despite the fact that 68% of the female respondents said they would.

www.sunshine.co.uk commissioned research to find out the attitudes of members of the British public towards sunbathing topless whilst on holiday.

Despite 56% of men claiming they wouldn’t allow their partner to sunbathe topless on holiday, 89% said they didn’t have a problem with seeing other women do so.
Of the mothers that took part in the survey, 66% had teenage children and two fifths, 42%, claimed they either had or would sunbathe topless in front of them on holiday. When asked ‘would you sunbathe topless in front of your teenager’s friends or partners?’ 9% said that they would.

http://www.sunshine.co.uk further questioned the women that said they would sunbathe topless. When asked to specify their main reasons for doing so, 78% said it was to avoid tan lines. 3% admitted to exhibitionism and claimed they wanted other people to look.
71% of the women that would sunbathe topless said they wouldn’t go as far as to wearing a thong bikini. Of the total respondents, 6% said they wouldn’t have a problem visiting a nudist beach.

Chris Brown, co-founder of http://www.sunshine.co.uk, commented on the findings;
“I think sunbathing topless is a taboo subject for many people, but a high number of women are evidently happy to do so. It appears that even though the majority of men would have issues with a partner sunbathing topless on holiday, plenty are happy to see other women doing so!

“As for mothers sunbathing topless in front of their teenage children’s friends or partners, I’m sure that would be a cringe-worthy moment for even the most laid back youngsters. What I would recommend for women wanting to sunbathe topless however, is to check the laws of the country you are visiting, as many either frown upon it or rule it out completely.”
