Fuoco Memorial Golf Feastival to be Held on September 16

Aug. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- (Center Moriches, New York) — On Thursday, September 16, The Rotary Club of Patchogue and the Fuoco family will sponsor the 41st Annual Fuoco Memorial Golf Feastival at Bellport Country Club. Proceeds from the tournament benefit Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, which serves special-needs children with mental or physical disabilities. Throughout the history of this golf outing, over $900,000 has been donated to support the camp. Registration and continental breakfast start at 9 a.m. Shotgun tee-off is at 11 a.m.

At this year’s tournament, the Rotary Club and the Fuoco family will honor the memory of Bruce Quatrale, who passed away in 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. For more than 10 years, Mr. Quatrale managed, supervised and staffed the on-course “Feastival” stands. He also golfed and participated in this event as an active committee member.

What makes this outing so unique are the “Food Feastivals” offered throughout the course. There will be various “Feastival Stands” featuring an Italian ice stand; pasta bar and wine tasting; Italian figs, grapes and fruits; clams on the half shell; the famous “Italian Gourmet Deli”; a homemade zeppoli and cannoli stand, and a Brick House Brewery micro-beer tasting tent.

Every hole will have a contest for “Longest Drive” or “Closest to the Pin,” plus a “Hit-The-Green Challenge” on every par 3. In addition, there will be a prize for a hole-in-one, courtesy of Brown’s Jeep Chrysler Dodge. The round of golf is followed by a cocktail hour, a buffet dinner, a grand raffle and silent auction, all starting at 5 p.m.  

Golfing reservations are $375 per person, which includes all of the above. Cocktail hour and dinner (no golf) is $150 per person. All checks should be made payable to Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

About Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck was created by members of the Moriches Rotary Club in 1946. Located on the shores of Kaler's Pond on eastern Long Island, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is funded primarily by donations and is a special place where children with physical and developmental disabilities can experience first hand the pleasures that an active life has to offer. Children participate in a wide range of activities especially designed for youngsters who are in wheelchairs as well as those who are ambulatory. These activities include swimming, boating, arts and crafts, petting zoo, talent shows, cook-outs, games and a Carnival Day.
