By: City and County of Swansea But perhaps even he would have been amazed at quite how much the world has been transformed because of the now ubiquitous motor car. Now Swansea Museum is offering residents the chance to chart the history of the motor revolution in its Road Ahead exhibition, which is now open. And they're appealing to local residents to chip in with their own motoring memorabilia that could go on display in the exhibition. Museum Exhibition and Events Officer Roger Gale said: "We've already got some terrific exhibits to help us trace the history of the road, including local engines, Rolls Royce wire wheels & tyres, motor racing trophies and much more from our own collections. "Visitors will learn about some of the biggest names in motoring ranging from the great Sir Stirling Moss to the Ford Motor Company, BP Oil, and many others. "But we're also very keen for some local input to ensure the exhibition fully reflects motoring history in Swansea. So we're looking for contributions from local people. "People might have pictures of their first car, trophies, motoring toys and plenty of other motoring-related items that would be ideal to add some extra local colour to the exhibition." If you would like your items to be considered for display please contact Roger Gale on 01792 653763 to discuss.
