Aug. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- DENVER, August 9, 2010 — The Denver Press Club (DPC) will hold its 16th Annual Hall of Fame Banquet, with a social hour at 6 p.m. and the banquet at 7 p.m., on Friday, September 24. The club will honor six inductees this year.

Every year, a committee of the DPC’s ex-presidents nominates individuals from the Denver area who have made a great impact in journalism and/or on the Denver Press Club. The 2010 inductees are Mike McPhee, who recently retired from The Denver Post; Cynthia Hessin of Rocky Mountain PBS; Neil Westergaard, editor of the Denver Business Journal; and, posthumously, cable pioneer Bill Daniels; Greg Pearson, former journalism professor at Metropolitan State College of Denver; and William Byers, founder of the Rocky Mountain News.

“All of this year’s inductees have had a massive impact on both the Denver Press Club and the landscape of Denver journalism in general. To look at the Denver Press Club’s Hall of Fame is to look at the building blocks of great journalism in Denver and Colorado,” said Denver Press Club President Bruce Goldberg.

Tickets to the banquet are $65, and attendees must reserve their place by noon September 22 at www.blacktie-colorado.com, by clicking on September 24. In addition to the Hall of Fame presentation, tickets include dinner and access to a cash bar. The banquet will be held in the upstairs area of the DPC, 1330 Glenarm Place.

Sponsors include Anadarko Petroleum, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Comcast, Hospice of Saint John's, Linhart Public Relations, Southwest Airlines, The Denver Post and Wells Fargo.

For more information, contact Bruce Goldberg at 303-803-9226 or John Ensslin at 719-650-0877.
