Grassfed Events: The Power of Four in Making a Difference

In response to the cries of the children of Haiti, within four days, Grassfed Events was formed, took immediate action, teamed up with The Gates Lounge and Concern Worldwide and threw an event to raise money for the needs of the children of Haiti.

Aug. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Once upon a time, the owner of The Gates Lounge in NYC told Danica Kirschenbaum the had a desire to use the lounge for nonprofit events. Danica filed this away in her mind, not knowing it would soon come to good use.

In January 2010, when the devastating earthquake hit Haiti, Danica, an attorney put down her legal documents to read the papers.  She read of the many victims needing immediate relief.  She seized the moment, went into her file of mental notes, remembering the proposal and recalled the best people she knew to create an event to raise money.  She called Annie Byun, Inna Sokolskaya, and Sandra Dominguez.  With her team in place, she reached out to Danny and Dara Burke of events for Concern Worldwide and brought them on board.

Grassfed Events was formed in the moment of tragedy; four friends saw they could use their talents and connections to help people.  Annie for her prior experience in marketing, media, nonprofits and high profile events.   Inna for design of the logos and invitations.  Sandy, then a director of sales for networking and promoting. Danica for her previous experience and knowledge of nonprofits during a span of 12 years.  And all of them for the relationships they have developed.

The Event: Hope for Haiti at the Gates Lounge, designed to benefit Haiti through Concern Worldwide. The entrance was a donation to Concern Worldwide. The event was a success, raising over $2300.00 in one hour.  The event also introduced The Gates Lounge to a variety of new people and their friends’ even after the event took place.

Since the first event “Hope for Haiti at The Gates”, proposed a steering committee to raise 500k annually and invited Grassfed to join. Concern Worldwide asked Grassfed to participate in their annual walk and to partner on future fundraisers.  In addition, Grassfed received offers from other nonprofits to produce or collaborate on events to raise awareness and funds.

The power of four;  Four friends; came together, in four days and with a mission to help desperate people they did not know and would never meet.  They didn’t look to see how they would profit when they started but ended up with a wealth of good feeling. And on top of it all, they had fun doing it

So ask yourself who can you help today?
