Panel to Discuss Education and Training Needs for Cyber Security Professionals

The role training and education play in cyber security will be the topic of a panel discussion at this year’s NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on Homeland Security and Defense™, Oct. 27-29.
 
Aug. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Cyber security depends on a highly-trained and well-educated workforce. The role training and education play in cyber security will be the topic of a panel discussion at this year’s NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on Homeland Security and Defense™, Oct. 27-29.

Mr Gene Pino, Director of Training and Exercises at NORAD/US Northern Command will moderate the panel.  Joining Mr Pino are Dr. Richard Andres, Senior Fellow, Energy and Environmental Policy at the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University; Mr Joe O’Keefe, Protective Security Advisor at the Department of Homeland Security; and Dr. Dave McIntyre Vice President of Academic Affairs, Homeland Security and Defense Division, National Graduate School.

The panel will discuss the currently available educational and training resources for the critical infrastructure security workforce. They will also identify gaps that exist now or might develop in the future.

The NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on Homeland Security and Defense™ is the nation’s leading public forum on homeland security and homeland defense.  The 2010 symposium is the eighth annual conference organized by the National Homeland Defense Foundation.   The symposium features international experts discussing the latest research, operations and policies affecting homeland security and defense.
