PRLog - Aug. 6, 2010 - BOSTON -- David Hawkesworth is a man with a mission. Not a mission to be rich or powerful or make the next great rap record but a mission to help those in need. David considers himself a soldier in a life and death battle and although he is blind he sees clearer than many in his community that the true enemy is complacency. David Hawkesworth is the director of Helping Communities In Crisis, Inc. The mission of Helping Communities in Crisis, Inc. is to help stop the stigmatization and discrimination surrounding HIV/AIDS through awareness, education, prevention and intervention in the Boston area. They are also striving, by distributing literature, conducting workshops, and providing social service referrals, to decrease the incident rate of infection of all STI’s (Sexually Transmitted Infection) in the Communities of Color which have been noted as having the highest and most increased rate of infection. David is the Founder and Director of this organization which started in collaboration with his church which allowed him the space he needed to make his organization a reality. With help from his friends Kevin Canada (Secretary) Audrey Mathews (Treasurer) and Berthia McCroey (Financial Secretary) HCCI is awakening the black community to the fact the AIDS crisis is not over just not talked about since now its victims are primarily people of color!
