By: World Overcomers Christian Church This event will include a job fair where employers will have a forum to attract and interview qualified individuals for active job opportunities. The Opportunity Fair will have two primary goals: 1) immediately aid the unemployed and underemployed in finding suitable employment; A limited number of openings are available for exhibitors. Interested businesses should register early to guarantee a booth at the Opportunity Fair. Although there is no exhibitor fee, employers must be actively hiring for positions to start as soon as possible. Registered exhibitors will receive an advanced resume book of attendees, and an opportunity to meet and interview attendees on-site. Over 200 attendees are expected at the fair. Additionally, the event will include workshops for job seekers and entrepreneurs, and an executive lunch panel featuring Carl Webb of Greenfire Development, Dorian Bolden of Beyu Caffe’ and Patrick Roberts of The Roberts Law Group. Current partnering organizations include the North Carolina Employment Security Commission’s (NC ESC) Durham Office, its Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program, Smart Moms, Good Work, Self Help Credit Union and Community Success Initiative. WOCC has been a fixture in Durham, NC since 2003. With over 4,500 members, it is fast becoming a ministry of influence. Under the leadership of Pastor Andy Thompson, WOCC has a strong mission to empower individuals and families economically, both inside and outside of its church walls.
