Inaugural Maryland Clean Energy Summit 2010 to be held in Baltimore on Monday, October 4th!

Aug. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Thought leaders from industry, academia and government will come together on Monday, October 4th at the Hilton Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland to focus on job creation and business development opportunities inherent in addressing the climate change challenge.  Participants will identify options, issues, and action strategies to obtain winning outcomes for Maryland.

The Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC), in partnership with The Maryland Energy Administration, organized the Summit and is working to drive the clean energy market by encouraging consumer adoption of clean energy products & energy efficiency practices.  “We are excited about the caliber of speakers and presenters, as well as the overall agenda for the Summit,” said Katherine Magruder, MCEC Executive Director.  “Our plan is for results oriented strategy development to take place during breakout session discussions.”  Throughout the conference, attendees will also recommend ways to better meet “EmPOWER Maryland” goals set by Governor Martin O’Malley’s Administration.

Morning panelists will build a foundation for change, covering the topics of energy as a national security concern, challenges of project finance and the policy landscape, in addition to cutting edge research – some taking place right in Maryland!  Participation in afternoon breakout strategy sessions will focus on implementation of specific technologies in the areas of Transportation, Renewables, Alternative Fuels & Biomass, and Energy Management & Built Environment.
